The History of Allen
Allen was named after a man named Ebenezer Allen, the last secretary of state of the Republic of Texas. It was settled in the early 1840's was established by the Houston and Central Texas Railroad and named in 1872.

Allen has developed much since then due to construction of U.S. Route 75 and DFW International Airport, as well as the development of nearby cities like Dallas and Plano.

Fall Family Festival
The Fall Family Festival is an annual festival that happens at the opening of Fall. This event is held to welcome fall with open arms and to bring families together to enjoy an afternoon with many different activities and fun games. This event welcomes people of all ages and takes place on October 1st.

The Connemara conservancy has been working for more than thirty years to protect and conserve the land, as well as better educate the people on Allen's environmental status and ways to keep it that way. Connemara works with a large variety of people including farmers, ranchers, and even city officials to protect over 6,000 acres of land throughout North Texas. Their mission is to help
land owners, developers, and local government to protect and conserve remaining open space. In addition, they are focused on educating people on the important aspect of maintaining nature and how it better improves quality of life.
